Walking Dead and My Love for Daryl Dixon

OK so if you don't know about the Walking Dead....Leave now...Spoilers will follow!!!

Ok So Zombie Apocalypse ....Rick wakes up from a coma and is alone in a hospital with a strange warning written on door.

Been all kinds of jokes like "don't dead open inside" WHAT!!! So anywho he leaves and BOOM walkers.  I have to say the half chick was my favorite from that episode and his look like " o sorry you don't need this bike do you"....man had me laughing anyway he can't find his family , meets a guy and tells him he is heading to Atlanta, lucky him finds a horse and rides his ass there ...guess what LOTS of Walkers...lets them have the horse(ok that pissed me off a bit) finds some more folks and lets them help him get outta of town. In the process they leave Merle handcuffed to roof.   Sorry Merle you are a racist redneck...tough luck!

They get back to camp and BOOM there is Rick's wife Lori who is sleeping with his best friend Shane... OOPS.

That is the moment people really started not liking her.  But soon after Daryl Dixon shows up.....and steals the show.

So Daryl Dixon is not in the comic books...he was written for Norman Reedus who tried out for Merle which was given to Michael Rooker....awesome choice...but they liked him so much they said "let's make a character for him" umm yeah good decision.  Daryl has MASSIVE appeal.  Why you ask.  It is a complex answer for people.

Let's look at Daryl, he is a dirty, bloody redneck who has a foul mouth and often had dead things hanging on him or at the very least dead parts of things.  But he has a HUGE fan base, admittedly a lot of them are ladies but also dudes.

Maybe part of it is that Norman has added minute subtle layers to Daryl, we know by watching that he had a hard early life that has left him emotionally stunted and we at times get to glimpse that little boy looking for approval.

I can I fell in LOVE with the character while he searched for Sophia.  I honestly think I felt worse for Daryl than I did for Carol when Sophia stumbled out of that barn.

We also love his smart ass one liners or at least I do...

"It may be a strange concept for many horror fans—a group that is predominantly male—to wrap their heads around. But Daryl Dixon is essentially the heartthrob of The Walking Dead. He’s the little something for the ladies, yet is competent and badass enough for the guys to enjoy."
 www.criminalelement.com/blogs/2012/05/the-cult-of-daryl-dixon-a-lesson-in-mass-appeal-thriller-comics-walking-dead-zombies-angie-barry
That says it perfectly I think....I can't wait for October and next season

but to get you thru this weekend is a Walking Dead Marathon on AMC....

and now a few Daryl Dixon GIFs for your pleasure

Cancer

Today my oncologist called.  She said "Hey you have a couple of minutes to talk?"  This

means they have found something on my latest MRI.  Last November I had the last something removed. So I get to go back next week to have another biopsy.  I lost my mom

18 years ago next month, today I sat and looked at my kids, having the same shitty thoughts

about leaving them as I did in the fall.

I am not sure which is worse having cancer or living with the fear of cancer.  Don't

misunderstand I know how bad it is, I watch it destroy my mom, but this terror that I live

with daily is awful.  Every test and scan involves so much stress and worry that I feel

physically sick.  Today I sat in my room and cried my eyes out, I called my best friend and

cried to her, I am crying now as I type this.

Sometime tonite I will move to the pissed off stage, where I just am like I don't give a fuck.  I
mean whatever bring it on CANCER, I will kick your ASS!  My mom wrote me a letter when

she was sick, I found it after she died.  It said that even though she didn't want to die and

would fight to live she was at peace if God wanted to take her home.  I say BULLSHIT,

screw that I got things to do so GOD is just going to have to wait for me...although in reality

with some of the shit I have done it might be the other guy wait :)

So I will use the image of my favorite guy to get me thru!!

Lost Girl

Ok, so it has been a little bit, busy summer with soccer camp with the kiddos. Just finished hosting the British soccer coaches and sent them on their way so I am back at it.

On the the good stuff...Lost Girl ...it has lots of good stuff.  First it is about the Fae, in this series the Fae include all things paranormal to include werewolves and succubus.  I know I know you are already intrigued.

The story follows Bo who was adopted and didn't until recently know she was "different".
She finds out she is a succubus and the really fun starts. She has to be careful because she can kill us mere mortals by sucking the essence right out of us.  But hey at least we die happy.

Her BFF is Kenzi who is anything but a mere mortal even though she is a human.  She is a mad thief and also Gypsy and has connections out the wazoo.  All those who meet Kenzi can't help but have a bit of a crush on her.
I have to say I love Kenzi for her style....Hair love it...make-up love it....Shoes LOVE LOVED LOVE. Although sh eis a skinny bitch so I must remove a least a couple points for that.

Bo: Every single snake at the zoo has disappeared!
Kenzi: Maybe they're on a plane?

Next comes Trick, we are not sure who he is at the beginning and I won't tell here since I want you to watch it all on Netflix.  We do know he owns the Dal which is a bar for the  Fae and now Kenzi. We know he has some idea of who or what Bo might be.  He is the father figure that Bo has never had and seems to be a great whatever he might be;)

Next is Hale, he is a cop and a Siren extraordinaire.  He helps Bo when she needs information and his family is major players in the Fae society.  He doesn't sing a siren song but instead whistles and that whistle can do all kinds of things. He is a sweet guy who gets into a position he doesn't want to be.

Last there is Dyson. He is a werewolve and I must say I have a thing for weres.  Any show I watch that has at least one were that is who I am totally in love with and it is no different here. Dyson is also a cop and a "food" source for Bo.  He loves her and loses her but you have to watch for more of that.  He helps her with cases and protects Kenzi. I think he looks at Kenzi like a bratty little sister.  He is also eyes for Trick for things going on with Bo.

And now for some GIFS because i am loving them

You heard her go to Netflix or Amazon Instant and watch Lost Girl!!!

Let's Get in the GAME

Ghostwalkers

Karen Marie Moning is my favorite author but another one who I read religiously is Christine Feehan.  She writes her Dark , Leopard and Game series.  Love them all.

This is about her Game series feature the wonderfully alpha Ghostwalker men and their equally talented women.

Now without giving to much away this series is about how a genius scientist, who is well beyond any of peers, has slowly tumbled into madness.  The descent we find out started YEARS ago when he would acquire baby girls from around the world that had some kind of ability and then do genetic alterations on them to enhance said abilities.

Fast forward and he is up to his old tricks but on military members who have volunteered.  Unfortunately, they don't realize until it's too late that he has done much more than they volunteered for.

Dr. Whitney's daughter starts to help them all in the first book after she finds out some of what her father has done.  Each book is about a soldier and hte woman he has been paired with.

WHAT!!! paired with ...yes they find out the good Doctor paired them in hopes of creating a super soldier....let the sex begin.
My favorite Ghostwalker is Gator, I mean he has it all...sweet gorgeous and a Cajun....New Orleans is all over his book ...I am in heaven and after seeing pictures of Stuart Reardon with his hair curly he is my new Gator.

Another cool thing, Ms. Feehan does is she makes a trailer for everyone of her books, all are on YouTube and they are good.

Anyway, I really like this series it has everything I like ..science and paranormal stuff..check it out

ps this video isn't one of her's just a fan's!!!

Karen Marie Moning and her Alpha Ryodan

This week I have been watching and voting for Ryodan in the Vampire Book Club's Alpha Showdown(http://vampirebookclub.net/final-round-ryodan-vs-reyes-farrow-alpha-showdown-2013/).  I have also been reading the comments left by other people, good and bad about the characters.  So far many of the comments about Ryodan have been very negative.  And it made me begin to wonder about what we are really looking for in our Alphas.

The true Alpha just is.

He doesn't have to pretend, or impress anyone. Real alpha traits are being relaxed, speaking slower, more confidence (not faked cockiness), have a higher degree of naturally occurring muscle tone as well as higher degree of naturally-occurring male pheromone.
Women tend to respond to alphas because alphas make women feel at ease. They don't try to impress women with conversational gymnastics, but will go up to women, remain in their space for prolonged periods of time without asking permission, or particularly saying much, and then calmly ask about mundane things, or make banal statements.
So let's think about Barron's, did he do these things YES most definitely.
“I know part of what turns me on so hard, makes me so violent with lust, is that he's dangerous. I fell for the bad guy. I'm crazy about the one who's trouble. The alpha that doesn't play well with others and doesn't take orders from anyone.”
Karen Marie Moning, Shadowfever
If you all remember the Barron's POV sex scene ( I mean who could forget right) and you can get in audio format with the wonderful Phil Gigante here  https://www.karenmoning.com/store/index.php?option=com_wbnanocart&Itemid=65
I remember when Karen first gave this scene to us, we read it and the comments started to fly, and more than a few were outraged at the thought that he might have done it for real but we were left with the question of did we think he really did. I for one think he did and I almost loved him more for it, but that is a whole other post that would delve way to far into my psyche that you all don't need to go;)  Barron's takes what he wants and is unforgiving about it, but like any true alpha he takes care of those he considers are in his "pack", the Nine, Mac, his son and even Dani to a certain degree.  But also like any good alpha he kicks those that aren't needed out like Fiona.
(www.facebook.com/ /pages/Stuart-Reardon-Professional-Athlete-and-Model/255794284496232?fref=ts)

Now let's talk about Ryodan, in the Fever series I never heard any real hard feelings against him.  Then comes Iced and BOOM suddenly people hate him even though he hasn't changed from the glimpses of him we saw in the Fever series.  What has changed is the center of his focus....Dani a fourteen year old girl.  Before Iced on goodreads.com there was a discussion on the possibility for Ryodan and Dani to end up together and while there was a few grumbles about age nothing major.  So I ask is it the age or the violence that has turned so many people against Ryodan?

I think it is the violence, the fact that he is willing to beat the crap out of her to get her to act the way he needs her to.  So now we must ponder why he would do this is it just for the giggles, I don't think so.  Dani is an enigma, we don't know what she is, she doesn't know what she is but maybe Ryodan does or at least he seems to have an idea.
“You’ll never be just anything. A tsunami can never be ‘just’ a wave.”
“Get off my chin.”
“I like that about you. Waves are banal. Tsunamis reshape the Earth. Under the right circumstances, even entire civilizations.”
I blink.
“You’re going to be one hell of a woman one day, Dani.”
Karen Marie Moning, Iced (Dani O'Malley #1)
So he see something in her and maybe that something that we can't see or even fathom is the reason he is willing to hurt her. I think if I was around Dani I would want to hurt her just because of her attitude, don't get me wrong I love her MEGAness and I get she has issues from her childhood(don't we all) but if she was in my house I probably would have put the hurt on her a couple of time myself. My kids can attest I do not suffer foolishness.

Ryodan also is protective of her in his own way and would probably be more protective if it didn't chafe her so much.
“The more excited I get, the more I vibrate."
"Now there's a thought," Lor says.
"If you mean what I think you mean, you want to shut the fuck up and never think it again," Ryodan says.”
Karen Marie Moning, Iced (Dani O'Malley #1)
Dani care for him in her own way.

"When I thought I'd killed him, I felt more alone than I've felt in a long time. Like I couldn't stand walking through this city knowing he wasn't in it. Like somehow, as long as he was out there somewhere, if I was ever really in trouble, I knew where I could go and while maybe he wouldn't do exactly what I wanted him to do, he'd keep me alive. He'd get me through whatever it was to live another day."
Karen Marie Moning (Iced (Dani O'Malley #1) (Fever #6)
So this story of Ryodan and Dani, we don't know where it will end but who are we to try and steer the course because of how it makes us feel. I would never presume to tell someone who they can love.
"You love someone because they sing a song only your heart can understand.”

Shit My Husband Does

I am going to start this by saying that I truly love my husband and he spoils me like crazy.  But having said that I am now going to say that he does some things that make me absolutely...

 BUG FUCK CRAZY..
(thanks KMM for the saying)

I was going to call this stupid shit my husband does then I thought well maybe annoying shit my husband does and since I couldn't decide I settled for Shit period.  As anyone who has been married for any amount of time or has even lived with someone for a while can attest to share a living space with another person is trying to say the least.  I have had roommates before that did things that really pushed some of my buttons but the hubs pushes them and then stands on them and then jumps up and down on them.

There are MANY things but I am going to list the hot ticket items here, you see it has been one of those weeks and I need to vent and I figured some of you out there would like to know you are not alone.

1.

He always makes me late....ALWAYS.
And not only does he make me late he then tries to blame it on me because he says my information about when I needed to leave or be to said place was unclear....hmmm let me think "I need to be there by 4:30" .........doesn't seem unclear.  I am speaking his native tongue..English. I have told him MANY times.  But it never fails his arrives so late that I am late and have at time had to cancel whatever it was I was going to.
By the way his new thing with this is that I now not only have to tell him verbally, I have to text and email him my information....excuse me but are you freakin kidding me.
Example...Today I had a minor procedure at dr, we have been talking about it and the appointment for 2 months, last night I said,"So are you going to drop me off at Dr and then go to work until I am done?"  He proceeded to look at me with this blank stare having NO idea what I was talking about and then started bitching because he never got an email about it.

2.

GOLF

Need I say more, not if you live with someone who plays.
I am a golf widow and my kids are golf orphans.

At first it was once a month, then every weekend and now every weekend and one night during the week. Now if it was just us I probably wouldn't care that much but now that we have kids, kids who say they hate golf..hint hint you are gone to much. It really gripes my ass, mostly because this came out of his mouth "I work all week so I DESERVE to go out and golf and hang out with my friends on the weekend", now I should also say I am a stay at home mom,   and so when I say well I work all week too he just looks at me.  I also want to point out that going to work is all he does, I do EVERYTHING else. I take care of kids, house, animals, cars, bill ect.
That's me at Kindergarten graduation...notice he is not there.  The next day I was at the zoo with the oldest boy and our youngest in tow.
Now I love having the privilege of being able to be home with my kids, but I wish the amount of work that goes into it was appreciated more.  When we both worked we split everything but now since I am home I do it all.
3.
WHY CAN"T YOU PAY ATTENTION!!!
OK, so I get it, we can all tune people out but my hubs is horrible about this and with his iphone he is worse than he ever was before. I will be talking to him and I am not talking about chit chat it can be important stuff and as soon as I see his eyes drifting then I know he is not hearing a word I am saying and if I don't happen to notice then I have to say it over and sometimes I end up repeating myself so many times I am so pissed off I don't want to be in the same room with him any longer.
Now I did start with how much I love him and I will end with it also but good God he makes me nuts;)

More when he pisses me off again....so it shouldn't be long

Time for some Thrilling Heroics

There is a nation out in space that is full of Browncoats.  Browncoats are those who LOVE the series Firefly and the movie it spawned Serenity.

I am a Browncoat.

The moment I watched the first episode I fell in love.  I loved the wit and the dialogue.  I loved that it was a space western. I grew up watching old black and white westerns on Sunday with my mom and have always loved the genre.  And of course my other love was science fiction...and this was the best of both worlds.

People so fell in love with this show that they were crushed when it was cancelled after one season and thru the efforts of the fans Joss Wedon the creator was able to eventually make a movie, Serenity finished the story for us fans but we are still hungry for more.

Each character was special starting with Captain Mal Reynolds, played by the wonderful Nathan Fillon. He was emotionally challenged on the outside but had a warm squishy center and you could tell how much he cared for his crew. He was always saying some awesome line that the fans have taken to quoting like..

Nathan loved the Mal character so much it was also carried over for one brief glimpse in Castle.

Zoe is second in command and she is as much a heroine as Mal is a hero.  Anything the men can do so can she and maybe better. She is loyal and faithful. And it is thru her strength that she leads in the captains absence.  She loves her husband and her friends.  She follows until she needs to lead.  She negotiates, mediates and in general leads in a quiet strong way.  And she has a subtle humor to her.

Zoë: You sanguine about the kind of reception we're up to receive on an Alliance ship, Cap?
Mal: Absolutely. What's "sanguine" mean?
Zoë: "Sanguine." Hopeful. Plus, point of interest, it also means "bloody."
Mal: Well, that pretty much covers all the options, don't it?

My next character that I love is Jayne.

Although often a strict mercenary, Jayne had his own code of honor. He loved his momma, we know this cause he sent her money all the time and wore the hat she sent him proudly.
Even when he had a blunt and sometimes harsh attitude toward everyone we know for certain he care about Kaylee, we saw him huddling by the window of the infirmary to see if Kaylee survived a gun shot operation
Jayne kept a huge arsenal in his bunk on Serenity. He had named his favorite and most powerful gun, a Callahan full-bore auto lock with customized trigger double cartridge thorough gauge that he called Vera(which used to be my nickname).
Jayne is complex because he cares what the other members of the crew think of him.  He is truly scared of River. And he is loved by the people of Canton.

And my final love is Wash. He is the pilot of Serenity and married to Zoe.  As a pilot he is either chaotic or Zen. He is a leaf on the wind. He is unassuming and easy-going. He likes dinosaurs.  He loves his wife and has a quirky sense of humor.

Hoban “Wash” Washburne playing with a toy dinosaur: Yes. Yes. This is a fertile land and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land! And we will call it... this land!
Wash as T-Rex: I think we should call it your grave!
Wash as the other dinosaur: Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
Wash as T-Rex: Ha ha ha! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die!
Wash as the other dinosaur: Oh no god! Oh, dear God in heaven!

So if you haven't had the pleasure of a little show called Firefly go find it on Netflix...you'll like it I promise;)
